Oathbound and Mageborn Centuries ago the KingSeer spoke her prophecy of doom to the newly crowned king of Freeland Hold. Though some have grown to believe them merely an old wives tale, others will now use her words to shatter the unbroken line of kings and throw the kingdom in war. Mira is the last of her House, but the FirstLaw bars her from the throne. The forces arrayed against her are hungry for power and fear the prophecy more than war. Her allies are determined to see her sit the throne only out of loyalty to her father’s wishes and their hatred of her enemies. Together they must fight against her enemies but also their own beliefs to win back the throne and pull together the fractured pieces of her kingdom. |
The Great Holding Centuries ago the KingSeer spoke her final words to her daughter: Ware those who walk on no legs and speak with two tongues, for they shall try to harness the Sight of the KingSeer. Hide her Name and guard her Sight for she shall See more often and more True than any before her. Since that time, her family has hidden their true name through the Ages, knowing that one day the Age would come when Victoria KingSeer's words would ring True. That Age has come, this Age's KingSeer has disappeared, and only one man has the strength of will to find her. Knight-Protector Maylin Silvon calls upon his friends to search the breadth of the world to find the KingSeer and lead her to safety. But those very friends lead him astray in his search, and he must learn to believe in himself before rescuing the most important prophetess this Age will know.

The Assassin Turning Centuries ago the KingSeer spoke her prophecy of doom to the newly crowned king of Corrigar. Though some have grown to believe them merely an old wives tale, others will now use her words to manipulate a FreeSword and throw the kingdom into civil war. Grendelak Mishtar, sworn member of the FreeSword Brotherhood, has been away on Contract for years. Instead of the celebrated return he anticipated, he finds his kingdom disrupted and the king seeking his head. He must save the Brotherhood while trying to avoid the cryptic mutterings of the skald that haunts his dreams.

FAQ
What happened to Mira and Kieran?
Mira and Kieran's descendants are still ruling Freeland Hold. Their daughter, Lysandra married Aston Mishtar, the grandson of Grendelak Mishtar and Manx K'hndreel of Corrigar and the nephew of the Queen of Amorice. The two kingdoms enjoy a closer relationship than ever before.
What impact did the Doornian Wars (4423 HY - 4426 HY) have on Freeland Hold?
Quite a bit, though the wars were much more devastating in the north. Kieran led his armies north and nearly got himself killed during a seige by Doornian forces on a keep in Duchy RangeWard. He was warned of the danger to himself and Mira before the Killing of Kings and was thus able to protect himself and his family from the death that stalked the monarchs of the world that fateful night.
The end of an Age? Are you kidding?
Would we kid you? No sir. 4423 HY marked the end of the Age of the Scorpion and the beginning of the Doornian Wars, heralding the Age of Empire. Recent adventures led to yet another passing age, and as of approximately 4590 HY we entered the Age of Relics.

What is Nordalia?
Nordalia is a world built for gaming and currently runs using the Hackmaster and Castles and Crusades RPGs, though it has morphed over the years from AD&D 1e, 2e and beyond.
Nordalia is also the setting for Oathbound and Mageborn, The Assassin Turning, The Great Holding and several other unnamed stories waiting to be told.
The world is living and evolving, and players interact often with characters from the books and, in some cases, characters from the books are actually players.
Come on in and take a look around, we don't bite and we're happy to share the rich history that is Nordalia with you.
